Bienniale internationale d'estampe contemporain de Trois-Rivières - 2009

The BIEC, as it is known, is the oldest international Printmaking competition and juried exhibition in Canada.  In 2009, on the strength of my submissions, all 5 pieces were accepted to the biennale.  Notable jurors such as Bonnie Baxter (artist and educator, and the sole printer of Jean-Paul Riopelle's graphic work during his professional lifetime) and Sean Caulfield (artist and Canada Research Chair in Printmaking at the University of Alberta) judged my work to be worthy of this competition, of which only 50 artists were selected from a strong field numbering in the hundreds.  The impact of my art was felt by Guy Langevin, Director of the BIEC, such that we have begun a professional relationship that has most recently been reinforced by his inclusion of my work in a juried exhibition highlighting Canadian Printmaking in Chongqing, China.
